It was at a dinner in 1973 at Castello della Sala that Coppola's name came up. The racking took place only after careful and daily tastings. Once the skins were separated from the wine, the malolactic fermentation began in barriques, to enhance the finesse and complexity of the aromas. The refinement process took place in French oak barrels and a small part Hungarian, mostly new, for a total period of about 15 months; after an initial refinement in separate lots, these were assembled to complete the evolution in wood. The wine, produced mainly with Sangiovese grapes and a small part of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, was refined for a further 12 months in the bottle before being presented to the market.

Tasting Notes Tignanello 2021 has an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The nose is complex: notes of ripe plum, blackberry and candied orange peel alternate with pleasant sensations of dark chocolate, caramel and licorice; sweet nuances of tobacco complete the bouquet. On the palate it is rich, graceful, intense, and characterised by sweet and vibrant tannins that precede a long and persistent finish.

SIZE: 0.75 Litre bottle.

ORIGIN: Tuscany.

GRAPES: Sangiovese 80%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, Cabernet Franc 5%.

GRADATION: 14% vol.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: Temperature between 12/18°C.

STORAGE METHODS: In a cool place away from sunlight.

PRODUCER: Marchesi Antinori - Tignanello Estate - Pesa Valley, Florence.

SPECIFIC NOTES: Contains sulphites.

Tignanello Estate

Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the soft hills between the Greve and Pesa valleys and extends over 319 hectares of land, with approximately 130 hectares of vineyards.
