Royale Réserve Brut is the purest expression of the Maison's style. Offering a beautiful balance between structure, length on the palate and vinosity, this cuvée reveals the quintessential character of the Mareuil-sur-Ay terroir, which dominates the blend, where Pinot Noir is strongly dominant. Aged on the lees in the Maison's cellars, at a constant temperature of 12°C for three years, much longer than the legal minimum of fifteen months. After three years of ageing on the lees, Royale Réserve Brut acquires a pleasant maturity while retaining a magnificent freshness.

 Characteristics: Intense gold in color with amber reflections, the lively foam is fine and persistent. It had the privilege of being a supplier to the King of France Louis XIV and, over the centuries, it has managed to maintain a leading role international record. The village of Mareuil, practically a single street dotted with small vignerons, is located in the center of Champagne, at the point where the three large areas into which the region is divided meet: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Cote des Blancs. Philipponnat owns 20 hectares of vineyards located, in addition to Mareuil, also in the municipalities of Ay, Mutigny and Avenay, all magnificently exposed to the South. The excellence of the vineyards is constituted by the Clos des Goisses: 5.5 hectares of vineyards so suited to making it possible to produce a vintage even in the least favorable years. The term “goisses” is the feminine of “gois”, which means “very difficult to work”, in fact the slope that goes from 30° to 45° is such as to make the use of agricultural machinery impossible, so all the work carried out in the “clos” is done manually, as in past centuries. From this small vineyard comes a historic label of the maison that became very famous in Italy also because it was Gianni Agnelli's favorite. Pierre Philipponnat purchased this wonderful vineyard in 1935 from the Visconti d'Ay family and today it is considered a treasure of inestimable value. Today Charles Philipponnat, heir of this glorious tradition family, with great passion and expertise continues the work of his predecessors to maintain the name and prestige of the maison.The unique and inimitable style of the maison is the fruit of a centuries-old savoir faire both in the vineyard and in the cellar that includes careful and scrupulous management of the vineyards, linked to a deep environmental sensitivity, and a vast heritage of reserve wines aged in wood with the solera method. This is how Champagne Philipponnat known throughout the world is born, among the best interpreters of the typology.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0401/6616/2598/products/ChampagnePhilipponnatBrutReserve.png?v=1716904720
