The noble Della Gherardesca family began producing wine on their lands in Bolgheri in the second half of the 17th century, but it was with Guido Alberto della Gherardesca, who lived between 1780 and 1854, that things truly changed. A great viticultural enthusiast and having become \u0026quot;major butler\u0026quot; to Grand Duke Leopold II in 1833, Guido Alberto dedicated himself to winemaking on his lands in Maremma.
